Six individuals were apprehended in connection with an alleged drug trafficking network in western Massachusetts, as reported by the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. The Anti-Crime Task Force initiated an investigation in September 2023 into an alleged drug trafficking operation spanning between Springfield and the North Quabbin region.
Josiah Cheeseboro, a 24-year-old from Springfield, was arrested on Tuesday at a residence on Seymour Avenue in Springfield, based on an active felony warrant. During the arrest, law enforcement claimed to have seized a loaded AR-style pistol and ammunition. Cheeseboro pleaded not guilty on Thursday in Franklin Superior Court to charges including trafficking of a Class B substance (cocaine), trafficking of a Class A substance (fentanyl), and two counts of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act. He is currently held on $100,000 cash bail.
Additional co-defendants, identified during the four-month investigation focused on the supposed trafficking of alleged significant amounts of heroin/fentanyl and cocaine for apparent street-level sales, are expected to be arraigned in the upcoming weeks. The co-defendants and their charges include:
- Romeo Frazier, 23:
- Trafficking in 36-100 grams of fentanyl
- Trafficking in 36-100 grams of cocaine
- Unlawful possession of a firearm; unlawful possession of a loaded firearm
- Use of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Unlawful possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number during the commission of a felony
- 2 counts of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act
- Damian Scott, 19:
- Trafficking in 100-200 grams of cocaine
- Conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act
- Tyshante Jennings, 21:
- Trafficking in 18-36 grams of cocaine
- Trafficking in 10 or more grams of fentanyl
- 2 counts of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act
- Michael Nelson Page, 36:
- Trafficking in 100-200 grams of cocaine
- Trafficking in 36-100 grams of fentanyl
- 2 counts of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act
- Juvenile from Springfield:
- possession of 200 bags of heroin/fentanyl
